Q: Can I buy my new home cheaper with someone else?
A: No, in fact you could pay more. The developer sets the prices and no advantage would be gained going direct to the builder – all his marketing costs are built into the price. A: We advise you speak to your lawyer about drawing up a will – laws regarding Inheritance are different overseas and you should have legal advice on this.
Q: Can I use my own UK Solicitor?
A: You can if you want to – we would recommend you use a local overseas lawyer, who knows both the area and the law in that country. Using your own solicitor in the UK would entail extra costs, as he would need to appoint a lawyer overseas to act for him.
Q: What about water and electric connections and payment of these bills?
A: Your lawyer will arrange connection of your utilities. You will need to arrange direct debits with the utility companies to be taken from your overseas bank account.
